Achieve Optimal Power, Speed, Grace, Efficiency
and Well-Being Equine structural integration is a step by step reorganization of the horse’s connective tissue and muscular system to assist horses in achieving their optimal power, speed, grace, efficiency and well-being. This work is based upon the Rolfing system developed by Ida Rolf, Ph.D. for restructuring the body. Dr. Rolf believed that, as a result of gravity and trauma, a body becomes functionally disorganized. Rolfing aligns the connective tissue system, which can be considered an organ—the organ of structure which holds the body appropriately in space. Dr. Rolf noted that the connective tissue “is a very resilient, elastic, plastic medium. It can be changed.” This is good news for horse owners, because a horse’s structure determines how well the horse functions. "Pat is a wonderful horsewoman. The structural integration has been very helpful for my complicated mare with some physical issues. It has made a huge difference in several areas of adhesions. The horses seem to enjoy the work as well. The horses are softer after the work. I highly recommend Pat if you would like to maximize your horse’s physical abilities or if your horse has physical issues." Martha Yates, New Melle, MO A horse owner who performs Equine structural integration, Pat Gallagher is uniquely qualified to assist horses in achieving their optimal power, speed, grace, efficiency and well-being.
She combines her knowledge and experience with a deep love and respect for the horses, and they respond by working with her to allow profound restructuring and healing and after many years of work, she's created "The Gallagher Method" which toggles between these very diverse healing arts. This mixture of Jin Shin Jyutsu Physio-Philosophy and structural integration has produced some incredible results, especially with injured horses that are unable to tolerate the depth and intensity of rolfing. This has really been a journey of a lifetime of experience which has inspired Pat to create this Powerful and Effective Healing Art for your horse. "Pat Gallagher began working with my thoroughbred Ted in August. Ted is extremely sensitive, and while he has tolerated chiropractic work, he has never been very comfortable with massage therapy. However, I felt that the kind of deep work with fascia that Pat does would help Ted. I was amazed to see that Ted actually enjoyed the very deep work. There is no question in my mind that the Myofascial release has helped his natural movement enormously. The work has increased his suppleness and flexibility. I strongly recommend Pat to anyone who would like to see improved gaits and relaxation in their horses." Wendy Neckameyer PhD, St. Louis, MO As an Equine structural integration Practitioner, Pat draws upon training in Rolfing and Hellerwork as well as an in-depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology and psychology of horses. Using her hands to apply pressure to the superficial layers of muscle and tissue, the Practitioner releases restrictions in the horse’s body that have limited strength and freedom of movement. Over a series of Ten sessions, the outer layers of tissue become more flexible and less restricted, allowing the practitioner to delve more deeply into the horse’s structure to organize intrinsic muscles and joint relationships more efficiently. Ongoing work allows a Practitioner to develop a relationship with the horse and an understanding of the unique body patterns and restrictions, as each session supports the next. This intimate knowledge of the horse then enables the Practitioner to free up the deepest levels of core restrictions in the joints and reinforce the changes that take place from the work so that the benefits last. Through this integrative process, the horse experiences enhanced balance, stability, power, flexibility, muscle integration and fluidity of movement. Thus, while Equine structural integration can certainly address particular problems, even a healthy horse can benefit from the work because it is designed to support optimal health and functioning. “Pat’s work with my Dutch Warmblood gelding changed his life and mine. She was able to shift his ability to move from ’well’ to ‘spectacular’." Tom Wilson-Seattle, WA “My mare had an old injury which kept our competition progress “stuck”. Pat and Natalie began to work with my mare, Eileen. After the 3rd session, I felt as if I was riding a completely different horse. Pat and Natalie are gifted, patient, Healers, the likes of which I have never met.” Nancy Mount-Louisville, KY THE structural integration SERIES
FOURTH SESSION “I knew Pat’s Mother, an exceptional rider in her own right. Pat was home visiting family and agreed to work on my senior stallion. He can be quite a handful. He hurt his back kicking out and playing. Pat’s patient, quiet and confident manner quickly tamed his testy ways. He was like boiled bran in a bucket with Pat. She worked on him 6 times and each time there was marked improvement. After his 6th session, he emerged from his cocoon of pain. I cannot say enough good things about Pat’s brilliant and innovative healing work.” Peggy Nulty-Newtown Stud, County Meath, Ireland
